Seaside Cliff Edge Garden
A seaside cliff-edge garden with challenging road access.
The clients wanted a lush tropical theme. The site needed land retaining and this was done by reinforced concrete block walls that were then stone-faced with Scarborough rock. Large Palm trees were transplanted from another property and craned onto the site.
Further plantings of mature trees, box hedging and ground-cover plants were then added to achieve the lush evergreen look the clients were wanting. Completed in 2007, this garden won at the NZ Landscape Awards 2008. It was the cover feature property for the Press ‘At Home’ Nov 2008 and also appeared in Trends International Magazine in 2009.
